University of Wollongong

The University of Wollongong (UOW) consistently ranks as one of leading universities in Australia:

Wollongong is located just over an hour by train or road from central Sydney. The University currently has 22,000 students in its onshore and offshore campuses, including 3,600 international students studying at the main Wollongong campus and the Graduate School of Business campus in downtown Sydney.

UOW has longstanding educational links with the Middle East and Gulf States regions, including the establishment of a campus in Dubai in 1993. As well as offering English language training and full Bachelor and Master degrees at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), students have the opportunity to transfer between the Dubai and Wollongong or Sydney campuses.

Wollongong is home to more than 70 nationalities and facilities cater to Muslim students, including grocery stores, halal food outlets and restaurants reflecting the cuisine of the many resident nationalities. There is a mosque in Wollongong, a Muslim Students Association and active clubs like the Saudi Arabian, Malaysian, Indonesian and many other student associations.

There are very strong support networks for international students, including an Arabic-Speaking Student Liaison Officer.
